Hundreds of fans, even Mayor Dave Corkum, turned out in Kentville Monday night for Ultimate Championship Wrestling’s (UCW) Bushwhacked Tour at the jam-packed Centennial Arena.
One of the largest wrestling crowds in Kentville in years witnessed WWE legends the Honky Tonk Man, recognized as the greatest and longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time, Bushwhacker Luke, one half of one of the most popular tag teams in history, and Al Snow with Head, a star of the original Extreme Championship Wrestling and a former WWE Superstar and top trainer, live in action.
Luke defeated former WWE and World Championship Wrestling performer “Wildman” Gary Williams, a national TV star on The Fight Network’s Wrestling Reality and Rush HD’s Kardinal Sinners, and Honky Tonk disposed of “Commercial Free” Sexton Phoenix following the infamous “Shake, Rattle N’ Roll” neck breaker.
Snow upended Riddick Stone in the main event following some mind games involving the referee, who had been knocked for a loop, a chair and a distraction that allowed Snow to sneak in a blow to his opponent’s head with “Head”, a mannequin head that apparently communicates non-verbally with Snow.
Reporter Kirk Starratt, a.k.a. ring announcer “Captain” Kirk, files the following video package, including exclusive interview clips with Snow and Bushwhacker Luke recorded during a fan meet-and-greet at Paddy’s Pub. For the full story, see the Tuesday, May 12 edition of the Kings County Advertiser…
