MainStream Wrestling returns to Middleton with action-packed event

On the heels of a highly successful spring tour, MainStream Wrestling Entertainment (MSW) returns to the Middleton and District Arena on Sunday evening, May 27.

MSW owner and promoter Devin Chittick, who wrestles as “X-Ray” Kyle Kruze, said the spring tour was phenomenal. The tour was held throughout eastern Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and was headlined by WWE legend The Honky Tonk Man. Chittick said MSW has quite a following in Newfoundland and touring there is always a blast. “The tour just keeps getting bigger and better and the fans are more and more excited each time we go there (Newfoundland),” he said. “I’m very excited about coming to Middleton this Sunday night for a great show!”

The line-up for Middleton is expected to include Sexton Phoenix, Prince Eric Ali, newcomer Cole “Hard” Cash, Sidewalk Sam and others, possibly “Wildman” Gary Williams and Kentville’s Trash Canyon, although they have yet to be confirmed. Long-time ring announcer “Captain” Kirk Starratt is expected to make his return to MSW in Middleton. Chittick said a couple of specialty matches are anticipated.

Chittick said he enjoys the challenge of building-up new towns. For example, MSW is currently the only promotion holding live wrestling shows in Middleton. Chittick said Windsor isn’t that much different in the sense that it’s a small town with a lot of potential to become a big wrestling venue. “The fans are here and the ones who come at the moment have a great time,” he said. “I think we can get bigger crowds here (Middleton) and make it a regular stop on the tour calendar.”

Chittick said he lives for the ring and looks forward to every match, regardless of who his opponent is. The adrenaline is pumping every night and it will be no different in Middleton. He was busted open last August when he performed there and nearly passed out in the ring from the loss of blood. He points out that the blood in wrestling is all too real but hopefully he’ll be left unscathed Sunday night. “I always give 100 per cent when I’m in there and I will make it a point to make sure I work hard this Sunday night for the Middleton fans,” he said.

The doors are expected to open around 7 p.m. Sunday night with the opening bell shortly after 7:30 p.m. Admission is payable at the door and there will be several matches.
