UPDATE - DGH emergency department schedule

There has been a change in the hours of the Digby General Hospital Emergency Department this week. The emergency department will be closed the following hours for the rest of June:

Wednesday, June 24, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursday, June 25 at 8 p.m. until Friday, June 26 at 8 a.m. (change from previous announcement)

Monday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, June 30, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The closures are a result of physician unavailability.

Digby County residents who need emergency services during the hours of closure are advised to visit their nearest open emergency department, and to call first to ensure the department is open.

The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of an emergency. An ambulance can only be dispatched by calling 911.
