Tyler McGowan was the hero for Windsor with a regulation goal and the shootout winner to edge the Sackville Blazers 6-5 in Lower Sackville Jan 25 in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League

The Blazers jumped into a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Taylor Parsons and Chris Simms. Ryan Swain, Nick Rose and Ben Colford all picked up assists on the two goals.

In the second Blake Hayes scored 38 seconds into the period from Cody White and Sam Webb to cut Sackville's lead in two. Six minutes later McGowan tied the game for Windsor from White and Webb.

But two minutes later Sackville regained the lead when Brandon Snow scored an unassisted goal. Chris Simms made it 4-2. But, with just 14 seconds remaining in the period, Eric Banks was able to get the Royals to within one at 4-3.

In the third the Royals tied the game at 4 just 12 seconds into the period when Brett Mosher scored from TJ Boyd. Just a minute later the Blazers regained the lead again when Pat Gilbert scored, on the power play, from Jay Titchmarsh and Clay Townsend. With just under 8 minutes remaining Cameron Gross tied the game for Windsor at five from Andrew Kirkendall and Jeremy Bent.

The 5-minute overtime settled nothing and it was Tyler McGowan's goal which stood as the winner.
