This year over 100 golfers participated in a very closely contested event. The rain and windy weather conditions made scoring and playing very difficult for the participants. After the first day of competition the team of DiPersio and Currie were tied for the lead, at three under par - 67, with the team of Horace MacPherson and Joel Simms. Another local team made up of Joe and Blair Whitty were just one stroke behind the leaders.

Sunday’s final round was a very closely contested event. With just five holes remaining DiPersio and Currie only held a two shot advantage over MacPherson and Simms. However the tournament champions finished very strong and carded a four shot victory.

Local golf club professional Dave Kemshead congratulated the winners and thanked all the participants. He was very pleased with the turn-out considering that the Nova Scotia Mid Amateur golf tournament was being held at the same time in Chester. Dave also gave special thanks to the visiting golfers who came from as far away as Calgary and Florida.
