Bursary chance

Museum exhibit

All month All in a Day’s Work: Valley Vocations exhibit, at Macdonald Museum in Middleton. The exhibits features occupations past and present in the Valley. Regular museum admission charged. Call the museum at 825-6116 for more information.

Easter services

April 5 Holy Week & Easter Services will be held at Bridgetown United Church Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m., Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 8 at 11 a.m. All welcome.

Walk and talk

April 5 Middleton’s Good Morning Walk & Talk is set for April 5. Includes a nutritious breakfast, a healthy food talk, and a short group walk. The session will focus on ‘Recipe Modification.’ Learn how to modify your favorite recipes so that they are much healthier without drastically impacting their taste. 9 to 11 a.m. at the Middleton Fire Hall. Registration fee is $5. Space is limited; please pre-register by calling the Middleton Recreation Office at 825-6611.

Easter Breakfast

April 7 Easter Breakfast at the Inglisville Community Hall from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Enjoy eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and beverage. Free will offering. Everyone welcome. Proceeds for Helping Hands Ladies Group.

Gardens clean-up

April 9 Historic Gardens Spring Clean-up: Easter Monday, April 9, starting at 9 a.m. Join us to help clean up the grounds to prepare for the new season. All volunteers welcome. Bring your own rake if possible. (Backup date is Saturday, April 14.) Information: 532-7018.

Annual General Meeting

April 10 Middleton & District Minor Hockey’s annual general meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the warm room of the Middleton arena.

Lions luncheon

April 10 The next Kingston Lions Community Luncheon will be held April 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kingston Lions Hall. Menu: roast turkey dinner with dessert. Cost: $8; delivery $0.50 extra. Proceeds for Lions charitable work.

VON Lunch Bunch

April 12 Hutchins Pharmasave in Annapolis Royal will hold a blood pressure and discard old medications clinic April 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

School bands fundraiser

By April 12 The Annapolis Royal School Bands are taking orders for bulbs, roots, and potted plants from Vesey's and Bunchberry Nurseries (the citrus sale was not possible this year). Items for sale include hostas, phlox, day lillies, glads, and potted sea thrift and primroses. Orders must be placed by April 12 and the pick-up date is Saturday, May 12. Contact a band member or call 532-0444 for more information. All proceeds go to support our school band activities.

Sacred, Secular and Silly IV

April 13 This fourth annual concert at Bridgetown Baptist Church at 7:30 p.m. April 13 features singing groups as well as organists and pianists performing a program of sacred and popular music. A free-will offering will be taken in aid of the scholarship fund of the Annapolis Valley Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists.

Ernst Family Singers

April 14 The Nova Scotia Choral Federation presents The Ernst Family Singers, a family folk ensemble, in concert at Middleton United Baptist Church at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 single, $20 family, free for children under 12, available at the door or from Middleton Choral Society members.
