The son of the newly-elected Kings South MLA, Ramona Jennex, has died.

Fraser Williams, 21, passed away June 29 after a motor vehicle crash June 20 in New Brunswick.

The Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations Minister was sworn in as a cabinet minister with the NDP slate June 19, but Deputy Premier Frank Corbett took over Jennex's duties, and will now continue in her role temporarily. In addition to her Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations portfolio, Jennex is also responsible for Emergency Management, Immigration and Youth.

Premier Darrell Dexter offered sympathy. "I want to express my sympathy for Ramona and her family at this extremely difficult time," said Dexter. "I know Nova Scotians share my support and hope that she and her family will get the privacy they need in the days ahead."
