The clock is ticking towards the opening of the commercial lobster fishery off of southwestern Nova Scotia. While there remains much uncertainly over the upcoming season given economic conditions, there are still many visual signs that the start date is approaching.

Meanwhile, an emergency meeting was held Sunday afternoon to talk about the possibility of delaying the start of the season, but no agreement could be reached so the start date remains Nov. 24, although further discussion may take place.

Fishermen are concerned with the price they may receive for their catches since in other lobster fisheries that are underway the price is around $3.
