After elections Dec. 9 in Cambridge at the Annapolis Valley First Nation, band members will be looking at familiar faces for the next two years.

Three people ran for chief - Janette Peterson, Gerald Toney Jr and Brian Toney. Brian Toney was re-elected, with 53 votes to Peterson’s 39 and Toney Jr’s 14.

Two councillors - Lawrence Toney and Marilyn Toney - were re-elected from a field of 16 candidates with 32 and 35 votes, respectively. Ballot results are as follows for other councillor contenders: Thresa Adlaide Brown, 14; Ray Charbonneau, four; Murray D. Coleman, eight; Sheila Marie Coleman, one; Murray Copage Jr, 10; Murray Copage Sr, 13; John James Hampsey, 11; Nastasya (Tassa) Kennedy, 14; Shari Lynn Marie Lloyd, two; Timothy Dean Minard, 15; Goldy Lynn Simon, seven; Angela M. Toney, seven; Roger Francis Toney, five; Wayne Peter Toney, 21.
