Hundreds of people showed up for Lawrencetown's second annual Canada Day celebrations Wednesday. Games, face painting, free food and drinks, and lots of prizes were available, plus a variety of entertainment including Katrine Gillis of West Dalhousie, Bob and Ethel Breen of Beaconsfield, Bernie Legge of Inglisville, and Janice Roscoe of Lawrencetown.

The event was threatened by rain, but crossed fingers earlier in the day kept the showers away.

The event, held at the library parking lot, was hosted by the Lawrencetown Pool Committee with help from the Village of Lawrencetown and the Lawrencetown Volunteer Fire Department. Annapolis County Warden Peter Newton, a former Lawrencetown resident, brought greetings from the municipality.
