The 63rd annual Queens County Music Festival awards concert took place May 4 at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool.

Opening remarks were done by Cheryl Selig, president of the Queens County Music Festival Association.

Leslie Jones was master of ceremonies.

Directed by Andrea Crouse the Dr. John C. Wickwire Academy Choir received the Kiwanis Trophy for highest mark in Elementary School Chorus.

The Liverpool Regional High School Chamber Choir was awarded the Bank of Montreal Cup for Overall Choir at a Junior or Senior High Level.

The LRHS Chamber Choir won the Kinsmen Shield for Overall Choir and was recommended for the provincial music festival.

The Atlantic SuperStore Award for Junior Soloist – Vocal (excluding Folksong, Modern Ballad and Musical Theatre) was shared by Lincoln Inglis, Gavin Raddall and Makayla MacLeod, Hannah Barnes.

Jenny Clattenburg was not only recommended for the provincial music festival, she also won the Veinot’s Footwear Limited Cup for Senior Soloist – Vocal (Excluding Folksong, Modern Ballad and Musical Theatre).

She also took home the Private Stock Studio Trophy for Highest Mark in Folksong, Modern Ballad.

The Bowater Mersey Paper Company Cup was shared by Peter Ernest, Neil Mutsaers and Bradley Crouse for Senior Soloist on the piano.

Elizabeth Baker won the IODE Cup for Piano Junior Soloist.

Jane Gillis and Peter Ernest took home the Lions Cup for Senior Duet or Trio, Piano.

The Khattar Cup for Junior Duet or Trio on the piano was shared by Bailey Selig and Deena El-Ziftawi, Kieran Clattenburg, Samantha Scobey and Sarah-Jane Stevenson.

Jenny Clattenburg, Haley Colp and Jenna Manthorne received the RICJAC Irving Mainway Trophy for Duet or Trio – vocal.

The Winds of Change Plaque for Senior Musical Theatre was shared by Jenny Clattenburg and Haley Colp.

The KMP Award for Junior Musical Theatre was shared by Chloe Pitre, Brenton Raddall and Olivia Olsen.

Olivia Gaetz and Luke Grant shared the Henneberry’s Barber Shoppe Award for Instrumental Soloist (excluding guitar).

Bradley Crouse received the Hank Snow Country Music Centre Trophy for playing the guitar.

The Queens County Music Festival Trophy was handed to Mandi Grant, Luke Grant and Chad Himmelman for Instrumental Ensemble.

The Evelyn Rieser Memorial Trophy for Piano was awarded to Brittany Hatt and the Maddie Keay Memorial Trophy for Piano was given to Bradley Crouse.

The Queens County Girls Choir was recommended for the provincial music festival and so was Kerri-Ann Dexter who also received the C.D. Hemeon Rose Bowl.

Luke Grant received the Liverpool Pizzeria Instrumental Scholarship while Sarah-Jane Stevenson, Kieran Clattenburg and Samantha Scobey shared the Music Festival Junior Piano Scholarship.

The Music Festival Senior Piano Scholarship went to Bradley Crouse.

Jenny Clattenburg took home the Kiwanis Vocal Scholarship.

Four Lions Vocal Scholarships were handed out that evening.

Lincoln Inglis shared the scholarship with Malcolm Freeman.

Hannah Barnes, Joel Orme and Chloe Pitre received the scholarship as well.

Sarah-Jane Stevenson, Kieran Clattenburg and Samantha Scobey shared one of five J.M. Reynolds Pharmasave Scholarships also given to Brittany Hatt, Makayla MacLeod, Jenna Manthorne and Nicholas Townsend.

One of two Royal Canadian Legion Scholarships was shared by Gavin Raddall and Nick Acocella for Junior Vocal.

The second was shared by Jenny Clattenburg and Kerri-Ann Dexter for Senior Vocal.

The Clattco Construction Scholarship for Musical Theatre was shared by Haley Colp and Jenna Manthorne.

Two Kinette Club Memorial Scholarships were given to Elizabeth Baker for Piano and John Orme for Vocal.

Olivia Gaetz received the Tutty and DiPersio Instrumental Scholarship.

The Astor Theatre Society Scolarship for Senior Musical Theatre Solo went to John Orme and their scholarship for Junior Musical Theatre Solo went to Gavin Raddall.

MacPherson’s Deli/Sears Scholarship for Senior Vocal went to Jenny Clattenburg and another to Haley Colp.

A third scholarship was shared between Peter Ernest, Bradley Crouse, Neil Mutsaers and Brittany Hatt.

The Bill Stitt Memorial Scholarship was handed to Alexandra Stephenson.

Kinsmen Scholarship for Piano went to Peter Ernest and their scholarship for vocals was shared by Jill Whynot and Hannah Barnes.

This year the Maddie Keay memorial Scholarship worth $1,000 was divided between ten participants, Grace Cowling, Kerri-Ann Dexter, Olivia Olsen, Brenton Raddall, Alyssa Oickle, Annalise Stevenson, Hannah Barnes, Bailey Selig, Neil Mutsaers and Stephen Karavors.

The Mel Richardson Memorial Scholarship went to Bradley Crouse.
