Winners of the Kingston holiday decorating contest were announced before Christmas. Sixteen houses were nominated and five judges - including two children - had a difficult time trying to choose the best entries. The host organizing committee was impressed by the entries, noting it was obvious many of the entrants had spent a great deal of time and thought in decorating their homes to reflect the festive time of year.

Winners in each category were awarded $150 by Kingston's 50th Anniversary Committee, which sponsored the contest.

Honourable mention was also given to Ian and Heather Pickering, 1755 Katelyn Street, and Bob Smith, 1754 Acadia Street.
