On Thursday, July 16, 10 contestants will take the stage in hopes of being crowned the 2009 Seafest Queen.

They are: Alexandra Taylor, sponsored by Spears & McLeod Pharmasave; Amy Campbell, sponsored by Yarmouth Mall; Carrie Thompson, sponsored by Yarmouth County Museum & Archives; Erin Mohle, sponsored by South West Shore Development Authority; Jessica Muise, sponsored by Rudder’s Seafood Restaurant & Brew Pub; Jillian Cottreau, sponsored by the Yarmouth YMCA; Kayla Muise, sponsored by City Drug Store; Martine Jacquard, sponsored by Nova Scotia International Air Show, Rachelle d’Entrmont, sponsored by Creamy Treat Ice Cream Ltd, and Tessa MacMillan, sponsored by Mackenzie School of Dance. This year marks the 31st anniversary of the Seafest Festival, and the 28th anniversary of the Seafest Pageant which will be taking place at Th’YARC, 76 Parade St., beginning at 7:30 p.m. There will be entertainment, a fashion show brought to you by the Yarmouth Mall, a series of award presentations, and this year’s Seafest special guest, Miss Teen Canada International.
