Girls will have a chance to reflect upon themselves and explore issues that each must deal with. Girl Power is a place where girls can feel empowered to be themselves, to have fun, and to learn from each other.
The program includes “Circle Talk” with topics such as: body image, feeling good about who you are, media messages, and healthy relationships. There are also plenty of games, crafts, and friends to be made.
This year one of the day camps is located in Shelburne County at the Shelburne Kings Street Family Resource Centre (August 4-7),
Girls are encouraged to register as soon as possible. The cost of Girl Power is $20 per girl for the week, however, limited sponsored seats are available if this is a problem.
For more information, contact the Tri-County Women’s Centre at (902) 742-0085 or 1-877-742-0085. Pre registration is necessary.
