The students gathered on Nov. 10 for a ceremony that celebrated the ninetieth anniversary of the end of the First World War—and also honored the men and women who have served, and continue to serve their country.
The program included the March of the Color Party, as well as poems and musical tributes performed by DRHS students.
Guests of honor at the service were local veterans. It was also attended by members of the RCMP, and local politicians.
Digby Regional High's Remembrance Day
The faces in the slideshow that was part of Digby Regional High School’s Remembrance Day ceremony were young – not much older than the students who watched. Those faces were of Canadian soldiers who have been killed in Afghanistan since 2002. There have been 92 of them.
