There will be a Remembrance service at Maple Grove Education Centre on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. Special tribute to soldiers killed in Afghanistan. Refreshments to follow the service.
Salad tea and sale

There will be a salad tea and sale at the Holy Trinity parish hall, 61 William St., Thursday Nov. 8. Doors open at 2, tea from 3-5. Adults $4, children under 10, $2. Craft table, white elephant table, bake and book tables.

Remembrance Day program

On Sunday, Nov. 11, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Western Branch, will feature special Remembrance Day programs. Stencil printmaking will use Remembrance Day motifs to create original works of art to take home. 2 to 3 p.m. All ages. Gary Gaudet will give a presentation about Yarmouth's wartime heritage at 3 p.m. Hear stories about Yarmouth's Second World War involvement.

Bereavement sessions

The prostate cancer support group meets the first Monday of each month (7 p.m.) at the Lions Club on Parade Street. Spouses welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Temple Baptist Church will be opening the Solid Rock Cafe drop-in center every Wednesday starting Nov. 7 from 1-4 p.m. Everyone welcome so drop in for a cup of tea or coffee and meet with friends.
