Art from the Heart meeting

August 9 The Middleton Community and Economic Development Department invites the public to attend a general meeting Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall. Plans for the sixth Annual Art from the Heart Weekend, October 11 to 14th are getting underway now. Last year it was good to see new artists participate as well as the success of new events that helped bring many people to the Valley. You’re invited to lend your support to the celebration of art and culture in Middleton & Area communities. For more information call 825-5500.

Jam session

August 10 Country and Bluegrass Jam Session with Pot Luck/BBQ Supper at North Hills Museum, starting at 6:00 p.m. Bring your chair and a salad or dessert. Burgers, hot dogs and drinks provided. Info: 532-2168.

Square dance weekend

Flower show

August 11 The Annapolis Region Community Flower show will be taking place on August 11. Enter your best specimens and/or do an arrangement(s). Pick up a brochure of guidelines at the Historic Gardens.

Moonlight Concert

August 11 The eighth annual Moonlight Concert in Paradise begins at 7:30 p.m. on the grounds of Ellenhurst at 10,252 Highway 1, Paradise. Concert feature the music of the Annapolis Big Band and soloist Donna-Lynne Holmes. The general public is invited. Donations accepted. Prooceeds for the Paradise Community Hall.

Look Good, Feel Better

August 11 The monthly Look Good Feel Better workshop helping women deal with the appearance related side effects of cancer and it's treatment will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in Ambulatory Care room 2318 at Valley Regional Hospital. Battle of Atlantic

August 12 HMCS Acadia will be having a Battle of the Atlantic Memorial Service at the Naval Monument, opposite the main-gate at Cornwallis on Sunday, August 12, at 11 a.m. All veterans and the general public are invited to attend.

Ramblers walk

August 12 The Bridgetown Ramblers will hold their second walk on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Destination: Tupperville waterfall.
