The stars of Grand Prix Wrestling made their return to the Berwick Arena on Saturday night, June 28 with another action packed card.

In the opening contest, the Wrestling Spider-Man squared off with the “Pirate of the Caribbean” Phil Atlas. “The Rising Superstar” Jeff Dupre successfully defended the Grand Prix Wrestling Heavyweight Championship against challenger the Cuban Assassin. Dupre had to overcome being rammed into the rink boards and repeated shots to the throat area from a foreign object, perhaps a taped-up pencil, Assassin was able to keep shielded from referee Kenny Flint.

The feud between women wrestlers “The Fabulous” She-Nay-Nay, hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, and Erin Angel, from Manchester, England, continued with Angel once again picking up the win. She finished She-Nay-Nay off with a beautifully executed moonsault from the top rope.

The Wrestling Spider-Man and the French Mystique were victorious over the Cuban Assassin and “Nature Boy” Buddy Austin, a.k.a former Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling performer A1, in tag-team action.

In the main event, the Wrestling Spider-Man overcame the odds and won an over-the-top-rope battle royal. Other competitors included Jamie Cash, The Rebel, Mystique, Assassin, Dupre, Austin and Atlas.

Although he has yet to set the date, legendary promoter Emile Dupre said he plans to bring another Grand Prix Wrestling spectacular to the historic Berwick Arena sometime in mid-to-late August.

Reporter Kirk Starratt, a.k.a. ring announcer “Captain” Kirk, was on hand for the June 28 event and files the following video package featuring clips from the singles matches and tag-team contest… • It should be noted that the video that accompanies this story is of a graphic nature.
