Running for a seat in the provincial legislature for the Nova Scotia NDP has been a “bucket list” experience for Kings West candidate Bob Landry.
“It’s just been great,” said Landry, the day before the polls opened. “People in Kings West have been so nice.”
Landry expressed confidence that a “tsunami of support” that has been building throughout the campaign will be behind him on election day.
“It’s been interesting. Everywhere I go, people are willing to listen to me and give the party a second glance.”
He does lament getting a late start on his campaign and has learned from the experience that being ready for an election is key to making gains.
“If I have learned anything, it’s that you have to get out there months ahead of (an election) so people know who you are going into it.”
On election day, Landry will be voting early in the morning at a polling station in Morristown and split the day volunteering at Ramona Jennex and Jim Morton’s campaign headquarters. He plans to wait on the returns at a victory party planned in the Berwick area.
