What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Make everything about the person you’re talking to. Listen, and take that extra few minutes. People will remember that you took the time.”
Who is your biggest influence?
“My grandparents, both sets, who taught me respect and values. I was always taught to serve. I’m deaf in my right ear, so I wasn’t able to join the Forces. This is my way of giving back.”

What are you passionate about?
“Political debate, in the broadest sense. I feel it’s more important that we engage in discussion than who actually wins or loses.”
If you could offer one piece of advice to today’s teens, what would it be?
“Get as much education as you can, as early as you can. As a 40-year-old taking an MBA, I’m speaking from experience. And stay and be engaged.”
Why are you running?
“I was always taught to give back and I want to be as actively involved as I can. Also, I have a 21-year-old son. I’d like to see him be able to stay in Nova Scotia to live and work.”
What do you think is the single most important issue in your riding?
“The issue that has come up the most – and it surprised me – is corporate giveaways. People are really annoyed at corporate giveaways when farmers are suffering.”
Why should people vote for you?
“I think I represent a party that has a real plan for a better future for Nova Scotia. Looking at the three platforms, I feel it’s a no-brainer, platform-wise. And personally, I feel I’m earnest and honest.”
