UPDATED with correction: FORUM STARTS at 6 p.m. tonight
The Digby Courier webpage will feature a sort of live ticker from the all candidates forum.
Tomorrow night, Wednesday Oct. 2 the four Clare-Digby candidates will answer questions at a forum at the Digby Fire Hall hosted by the Digby Board of Trade and the Nova Scotia’s Teacher’s Union.
The forum starts at 6 p.m. and for those of you who can’t be there, we will try to keep a running commentary on what’s happening. We will be using new-to-us software called Cover It Live.
The right hand column of the webpage (www.digbycourier.ca ) will feature a scrolling comment bar where I (reporter @jonathan_riley) will be posting, and where we invite you to post as well.
If the candidates Tweet something, we’ll be able to grab that and stick it in the Cover It Live session.
In fact, anyone at the forum (or just following along at home) and using Twitter can simply use the hashtag #digbycan . We’ll pick it up and, if it’s fit for human consumption, we’ll slip it into the conversation.
Photos from the forum or photos you took when the candidates knocked on your door will also be welcome.
People not on Twitter, but following the Cover It Live session on their computers can simply make comments into the comment bar at the bottom of the Cover It Live window on www.digbycourier.ca .
We’ll moderate those comments for offensive language or other troll-like behaviour and then they’ll appear in the conversation.
That’s the plan anyway.
If you’re planning on tweeting tomorrow night about the all-candidates forum, why not send a Tweet when you read this and mention @DigbyNews – so I’ll know to watch for you. If you have photos from the election campaign, tweet them now too to @DigbyNews. I might just use them tomorrow. Thanks!
The four candidates all have Twitter accounts.
