The Yarmouth Adult High School graduation was held Friday, June 26 at Th'YARC. This year 14 students received an academic high school diploma or the Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma for Adults. An additional eight lifelong learners received certificates as they returned to upgrade their previously received diplomas.

Jean Paul Comeau was class valedictorian. He reminded his fellow graduates that it is never too late to continue one’s education, and he congratulated his fellow students’ achievements despite the many obstacles and additional responsibilities they had encountered. Comeau closed with a quotation from Aldous Huxley who stated that, “Experience is not what happens to you. It is what you DO with what happens to you.”

The list of graduates is as follows: Thomas Boudreau, Zachary Brush,

Jean Paul Comeau, Tara Corkum, Adam Cottreau, Matthew Goodwin, Alyssa Hobb,

Stella McAuley, Lisa Mullen, Stacey Nickerson, Faith Perry, Kyle Porter, John Saulnier, and Sonya Shelley.

Faith Perry received the Community Service Award presented by the Tri-County Regional School Board, and Jean Paul Comeau, as class valedictorian, will receive a complementary one-year subscription to Reader’s Digest Magazine.

Lifelong learners included Michelle Beale, Michael Doucette, Ginette Muise,

Marley Pitman, Katherine Poole, Brandon Saulnier, Jamie Smith, and Elizbeth Sullivan.

The Yarmouth Adult High is located in the former Tri-County Regional School Board offices at 46 Parade St. Classes recommence in September.
