More than 150 students will graduate from Shelburne County’s three high schools during ceremonies this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Shelburne Regional High School (SRHS) graduates will be the first to cross the stage, with graduation ceremonies scheduled for Thursday starting at 7 p.m. at the school.

The SRHS Class of ‘09 is expected to number 40. Guest speaker is SRHS graduate Adam Dedrick.

Graduates at the Barrington Municipal High School (BMHS) will receive their diplomas on Friday night,

The BMHS Class of ‘09 is expected to number in the range of 100, said principal Dave Buckland, which is on par with other years.

The BMHS graduation will be held at the Barrington Municipal Arena on Sherose Island starting at 7 p.m. Guest speaker is Rosalie McMullen, a graduate of BMHS who teaches in New Brunswick.

BMHS will continue the practice of honoring local veterans with honorary diplomas. This year’s recipients are Carl V. Atkinson and Clarence Garron.

Lockeport Regional High School (LRHS) graduates will mark the occasion on Saturday, with graduation exercises at the school starting at 1 p.m.

Twenty-seven students will be graduating from LRHS this year. Guest speaker is former teacher and coach Kent Balish, who has been teaching in the Middle East for the past two years.

Following the graduation, the LRHS class of ’09 is headed to Halifax for a night of safe grad celebrations.

Safe grad activities are also planned for BMHS and SRHS.
