Somerset sale on the road at C.K.

For a second and final year, the Somerset Craft Fair, hosted by Somerset and District School’s Home and School Association; will be held at Central Kings on Hwy. 1 in Cambridge. “Somerset school is still a work zone,” says event organizer Nancy Marshall of the need to host the event off-site for one more year. “But, by this time next year, we will be ready to move the craft fair back to Somerset.”

The 28th annual event, which runs over two days November 15 and 16, will feature over 100 crafters of all kinds. Marshall says each day will be a bit different, with 30 crafters booked for Saturday only, 39 for both days and 36 for Sunday only. There will be a full house of 98 crafters each day.

New this year, there will also be a vendor selling Christmas wreaths from the parking lot.

Marshall said the home and school group is hoping for a public response similar to last year, noting the 2007 off-site fair was well received. “People were very excited that all the crafters were on one level, and it will be great to offer that again this year. And, looking ahead, when our new gym at Somerset is completed, we’ll be able to continue offering a lot more on one level as well.”

The annual craft fair is the school’s biggest fundraiser, and supports a variety of student programs and services. One-day admission at the door is $2 and a two-day pass is $3. The show runs both days, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
