Blueberry festival

Blueberry festival Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse, Lower West Pubnico. $6 each, ($5 for members.) Variety of blueberry desserts and tea or coffee. There will be a kitchen party (Soirée de Musique) at the New Horizon Room in West Pubnico, Wednesday, Aug. 6,

Open mic

Anniversary

The Durkee Memorial Library, in Carleton will be celebrating its 70th anniversary (as well as renovations) on Aug. 5. A tea will be provided.

Yard/bake sale

There will be a yard sale and bake sale at the Brazil Lake hall on Saturday, Aug. 9, until 1 p.m. Proceeds for the Hospital Hullabaloo. Sponsored by the Brazil Lake Women’s Institute.

Vacation Bible school

Hall of fame opened

The Sports Hall of Fame, in its new location at 435 Main St., is now opened from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. And the sports calendar is on sale at the hall of fame, City Drug and Spears and MacLeod Pharmasave. You can also pick up hall of fame nomination forms at the same locations. Deadline is Sept. 30.
