Police have not named the man, a student from Digby, but local sources have identified him as Mark Adams, son of Glen and Ruth Adams.

The Fredericton Gleaner newspaper reports this morning that he is listed in serious, but stable, condition.

Police said he was hit by a vehicle Wednesday around 11:30 p.m. at an intersection in downtown Fredericton. A cab driver has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and police say other charges are possible.
