Young spellers will be putting letters together this spring in the Black Educators Association 2nd annual spelling bee. The Valley Regional School Board recently pitched in $500 to support the Valley and provincial participants. From left are board superintendant Norm Dray, Steve Carrington, Co-ordinator of Race Relations, Cross Cultural Understanding and Human Rights for the Valley board; and John Cleveland, the Valley’s regional educator. Valley students from ages eight to 15 will face-off at the end of April at an Aldershot school event. The provincial bee will be May 31 in Halifax.
