August 31 to September 6, 2008 continued

 - CARVER, Robert “Bob” Delane, passed away July 19, 2008 at his home in Kitimat, BC with his wife and daughter by his side. Born May 9, 1943 in Milton, NS, Bob was the eldest son of Kathleen Carver and the late Norman Hanson. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. For most of his life, Bob was employed as a welder, working at the Halifax Shipyards, NS for 10 years before getting into the mining industry. He then continued to work his way across Canada. He spent a couple years at IOC Schefferville, PQ, 4 years at McInyre Mines/Smokey River Coal, Grande Cache, AB, 17 years with Quintette Coal in Tumbler Ridge, BC and with Kemess Mines, BC since 2001. This last move brought him to Kitimat, BC on the Pacific Ocean where he loved to spend every spare moment on his boat, fishing for Salmon and Halibut, crabbing or just having a nap. He loved his family, took much pride in his job and got great satisfaction from sharing his hunting and fishing stories about the big ones that got away. Bob is survived by wife Judith (Bruhm); daughter Carley Delane, Kitimat, BC; son David Legge, Mission, BC; Mother Kathleen Carver, Bridgewater, NS; Brothers Roger (Carla), New Germany, NS, David (JoAnne), Quebec City, PQ; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made under direction of MacKay’s Funeral Services, 4626 Davis Ave, Terrace, BC. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service was held September 6, 2008 at Moon Bay Marina, Kitimat, BC. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer society or organization of your choosing. Thank You from the family for your thoughts and cards of sympathy.
