 - KEIRSTEAD, Gordon Richard (Major), 81, of Brooklyn, Hants County, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born October 12, 1926, in Sussex, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Gordon and Helen (Russell) Keirstead. Dick retired in 1978 from the Canadian Armed Forces (RCAF). He was an avid Barbershop Quartet (SPEBSQSA) enthusiast and belonged to the Mill Stream Chorus, Bedford. Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith

Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith "Judy" (Walker) Keirstead; his children, Christopher Keirstead, Ste-Emelie-de-L'Energie, Quebec; Candace (Daniel) Dion, Halifax; Kristin Keirstead, Halifax; Kurt Keirstead, Edmonton, Alberta; Carol Ann Dill (Paul Mensch), Ellershouse; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Karen Mills. Cremation has taken place, and there was no visitation by Dick's request. A Memorial service was 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street. Windsor, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre. The Rev. E. E. Hill officiated. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
