ZWICKER, Laura “Annette” - 67, Tonge Hill, Hants Co. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on February 2, 2008, as a result of a brief and unexpected illness. Born in Burlington on February 18, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Matilda "Tilly" Brightman. She was predeceased by sisters, Lois Swinamer (Vernon) and Freda Stephens (Ronnie); and nephew, Mike Stephens. She is survived by her beloved husband, Lloyd; sons, Jack (Kerrie), Windsor; Darrell (Sue), Newmarket, N.H.; David (Andrea), Windsor; daughter, Kim (Wade), Mount Denson; granddaughters, Angie Barclay (Tom), Lindsay, Bryanna, Natasha, Danielle, Sarah; grandsons, Sam, Corey; great-granddaughter, Randi; nieces, Darlene Sanford (James) and children, Luke and Mae Ru; Lois Croman (Brian) and children, Corey and Kyle; Carla Stephens (Adrien); Joy Ann O’Hearn (Jim) and children, Laura and Jason; Sharon Myler (Raymond) and children, Tara and Raymond; nephew, David Snair. Annette graduated from Windsor Academy and Kay Anslow Business College. She worked with Evangeline Savings and Mortgage for over 35 years. She was actively involved in Windsor Minor Hockey and Figure Skating, and Windsor and District Minor Baseball. She was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Windsor). Annette adored her family, a large community of friends, and of course her cats. All that knew her will sadly miss her warm and loving nature. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohnes Funeral Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 4. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. Interment took place in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. A reception followed in Windsor United Church Annex. Donations in memory of Annette may be made to the SMILE Program, C/O Acadia University, 550 Main St., Wolfville, NS B4P 2R6 or Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia (Annapolis Valley Chapter), C/O Jake Macdonald, 16 Maple Ave., Wolfville, NS B4P 2L7.
