On June 24, during the first meeting of council in their new Hebron municipal building, Th’YARC project manager Kerry Munro stressed the need for moving forward on the first phase of the two-part project in order to utilize infrastructure funding by deadlines.

The total cost for Phase I is $400,000 of which Th’YARC is asking the three municipal units to contribute $100,000. The MoY contribution is $36,400. Other funders for Phase I are Cultural Spaces Canada and the Province of Nova Scotia.

When warden Leland Anthony queried CAO Kenneth Moses as to where the $36,400 would come from, Moses replied he wasn’t sure. “We’d have to have a good look around. That’s not to say it’s not doable,” he said.

The motion was moved by Trevor Cunningham and carried unanimously.
