Kings County residents will be able to celebrate Canada in communities across the county on July 1.

In Berwick, Canada Day with Razzmatazz will run from 2-4 p.m. at Rainforth Park. Instead of a barbeque this year, healthier snacks will be available, including popcorn, fruit kabobs and water. Birthday cake will also be served. 

In Burlington, things get underway at noon. It will feature a flagraising, barbecue, street parade at 12:30 p.m., horse pull, entertainment, children's activities, pie contest, flower contest and much more. The community hall will be the centre of the activities.

At Aylesford Lake Beach, take a break from swimming for games, trivia, bouncy castles and tattoos between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Everything is free.

Hall's Harbour will get Canada's celebration underway early, with a breakfast from 7-10 a.m. at the fire hall. All proceeds will benefit the Hall's Harbour Fire Department.

Scott's Bay will combine Canada's birthday with Bay Day, beginning at 10 a.m. with a flea market. There will be a parade at 11 a.m., lunch in the Seaside Centre and at the hall canteen beginning at noon. Dart booth, childrens games, cross-cut saw competition, auction, chicken barbecue supper beginning at 5 p.m., variety show in the fire station, cake and fireworks at dusk are all on the agenda.

Get ready to get wet at Wolfville's Canada Day celebrations. In addition to a barbecue, Willow Park will be the site of a water fight from 2-3 p.m. Area residents are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch, enjoy the entertainment and bring along their favourite water guns.

It will be Canada Day on the Wing in Greenwood on July 1. From noon until 3 p.m., 14 Wing Community Centre and Greenwood Military Family Resource Centre will hold a barbecue, free bounce castle, tattoos, a fire truck and MP vehicle visit, free swim and a skateboard clinic. Activities will be held at the community centre in Greenwood.

New Minas' Canada Day festival will be full of music, food and activities such as bounce castles and soap slides for the whole family to enjoy. Everything is free and will run at Lockhart and Ryan Park from noon-4 p.m.

At Ross Creek Centre for the Arts, there will be a free family day full of art, music and fun, followed by fireworks, running from 1-10 p.m.
