The Kingstec Campus recently hosted the fifth annual spring conference for early childhood educators.

The Nova Scotia Community College Kingstec Campus was a beehive of activity as Early Childhood Educators and other professionals gathered recently for the fifth annual Spring Conference.

The theme “Nurturing Environments” brought facilitators from near and far to offer workshops from Amazing Science to Mentoring in Work Environments.  The tradeshow featured many vendors such as Norwex, the Discovery Centre, and Canadian Geographic.

More than 150 participants engaged in exciting activities and new learning on the evening of May 2 and all day May 3 as they collaborated with each other.

This new learning will be taken back to their centres and programs to provide educational opportunities for the children and families in their care.  Kingstec Early Childhood Development Support Centre administrative assistant Justine MacDonald and centre co-ordinator Monica Slauenwhite are working to provide professional development opportunities for the early childhood and care sector and said they look forward to strengthening community partnerships.
