Guests and sponsors helped the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation raise $58,000 for the maternal and child unit at Valley Regional Hospital on April 12.

The Valley Regional Hospital Auxiliary was the featured partner at the Tuscangala with a gift of $10,000.

Three great chefs and wineries - Jason Lynch, Le Caveau; Dennis Johnston, Fid Restro; and Joseph Crocker, Peasant’s Pantry; Domaine de Grand Pré; Avondale Sky; and Blomidon Estate Vineyards – provided a four-course meal paired with local wine.

The room was decorated by A Beautiful Bouquet, Silver Horse Florists and many volunteers. The Mark Riley Band provided musical entertainment and artist Twila Robar-DeCoste painted a “Tuscany Landscape” that was auctioned later in the evening. Another well-received auction item was a unique opportunity offered by Camp Aldershot to be a hero for a day; the 2014 hero is Dennis Stosky. The $2,000 grand prize winner was Mandeep Panesar.

Funds raised support the campaign goal of $180,000 to purchase six fetal monitors.
