The library held a games day for children during March Break that featured a variety of board and online games. The children had fun playing familiar games like Pictureka and Wii, as well as meeting new friends and trying new games.

Congratulations to Taylor Stutely and Chelsea Whalen of Launchers Athletics, who were chosen youth female and senior female athletes of the year at the Nova Scotia Track and Field Awards held on March 1 in Truro. Three other Launchers members, Edmund Wohlmuth, David Bambrick and Alex Rawding, were also in the running for provincial awards.

The third in the Lenten series of Choral Evensong services will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church at 4 p.m. on March 23. This week, they welcome the choir of Saint George’s (Round) Church, Halifax, who will lead the praises.

 DanceTime at Port Williams will host a disco dance (with some social and ballroom dancing) at the Community Centre on March 22 from 8:30 p.m. until midnight. Club DJ Kara will entertain you with hits from the disco era. Advance ticket sales only. Tickets are $5 per person; must be 19 years of age or older. The Port Williams Fire Department will be celebrating the birthday of Sparky the firedog with an Open House on March 23 from 2-4 p.m. There will be cake, games, colouring and the opportunity to meet the firefighters and Sparky. Come explore the fire station, the fire trucks and even use a real fire hose. Sparky hopes to see you there!

The Village of Port Williams and the Princess Committee are now accepting applications for candidates residing in the Port Williams school area (Greenwich, Port Williams and North Kentville).  Candidates must between the ages of 19-23.
