The Coole family of New Minas, Michelle, Jessica, Kaitlyn and Brian, were on hand at the New Minas Lions Club country breakfast at the Louis Millett Community Complex on March 1 to help spread the word about Purple Day for Epilepsy, which is March 26. This is an awareness day where people around the world wear purple in support of those with epilepsy. Purple Day was created in 2008 by a girl from Nova Scotia, then nine-year-old Cassidy Megan, who was motivated by her own struggles with epilepsy. Proceeds from the breakfast went toward the Canadian Epilepsy Alliance campaign. For more information, visit www.epilepsymatters.com or www.purpleday.org.
