Well wishes go out to Todd Welton who received broken ribs and backbones during an excavator accident. Todd is in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Sympathies are extended to the family of Frances Elma (Dot) Houghton, 99, of Sheffield Mills, who passed away Dec. 8 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Frances was born in Scott’s Bay and is grandmother to Holly O’Connell of Scott’s Bay.

Scott’s Bay dart league standings: Jerry Huntley and Dave Corkum are in first place with 41 games, Lisa Crowell is in second with 31 games and Dean Barkhouse is in third with 28 games.

Scott’s Bay seniors joined Canning seniors for a Christmas dinner Dec. 11 with plenty of food, entertainment and fun. Everyone had a good time.

Glooscap Elementary School will hold its shopping party Dec. 17-18 and skating party Dec 20. Last day of school is Dec. 20, then back on Jan. 6.

The Scott’s Bay Women’s Institute is selling 2014 calendars at Canning Village Meat Store or call Gwen at 582-7178.

Canning Legion New Year’s Eve Dance will be held Dec. 31 from 9 p.m.– 1 a.m. with music by Bev Sheffield. Light lunch at midnight. Tickets $30/couple. Call the Legion at 582-7246 after 4 p.m. daily. Tickets are limited.
