Children attending the annual Port Williams Elementary School Santa Breakfast had a number of special guests to talk to this year. Not only could they tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas, but young hockey fans could also chat with Acadia Hockey Axemen who were on hand to serve the pancakes, sausages and beverages. Princess Port Williams 2013 Emily Miller and her child attendant Paige MacDonald were also in attendance to assist Santa and meet the children.
The Port Williams and District Lions Club Christmas baskets project and the PWES breakfast program were the beneficiaries of the money raised at the event. The family Christmas Basket raffle won by Grade 5 student Jacqueline LaPlante. Additional photos can be seen on the Village website, www.portwilliams.com .
Come ring in the New Year at the annual Port Williams Volunteer Fire Department New Year’s Eve dance on Dec. 31 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are $15 per person and are available at the Village Office, the Wharf General Store or from any member of the PWVFD.
The Port Williams and District Lions Club will be providing Christmas food baskets, a complete Christmas dinner, to individuals/families in need in their area. If you know of anyone who may be eligible, please advise Lion Brian Tupper at 542-3432 by Dec. 17.
Tickets for the Port Williams and District Lions Club's Christmas Draw are now available from any club member or member of the local TOPS group and are 3 for $5 or $2 each. The draw will be on Dec. 18. First prize is 450 litres of furnace oil, second prize a $150 automotive gift certificate; third prize a painting and the fourth prize $100 Port Pub gift certificate. Funds raised are used to provide Christmas food baskets to people in need in the Port Williams area.
