The Western Kings 4-H club met on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at Somerset school.
Yuletides (Christmas magazine with recipes and crafts) are for sale again this year by members of our club and these Yuletides make great stocking stuffers.
Members brought in more food bank items again this month. Well done everyone. The food will be put to good use during the Christmas season.
We were glad to hear that Melanie Aalders is our new photography leader.
4-H members are selling magazine subscriptions until Jan. 10. These subscriptions will help raise funds for 4-H at the provincial, county and club level. The magazines are Rural Delivery, Atlantic Beef + Sheep, Atlantic Forestry and, Horse and Pony. The top seller wins an Apple iPad mini and the top club wins $500. Mary has more information on this fundraiser.
We now have a new executive for our club. Past president is Olivia Sawler, president is Logan Menzies, vice-president is Brianna Hamilton, secretary is Victoria Brydon, treasurer is Christina Palmer and club reporter is Megan Gibson. Congratulations to our new officers.
Our Christmas party/meeting/awards night will take place on Dec.
17 at the Woodville Hall. It begins with a potluck supper. We will start dishing up at 6:30 p.m. Families are asked to bring a main dish, dessert or rolls, your own plates and utensils. Don’t forget your holiday enthusiasm for the games that will take place after the awards are handed out.
This is Tyler signing off with my last report before Megan Gibson takes over, so here is a 4-H fact:
Did you know we have our own 4-H grace? We thank Thee Lord for
blessings great, on this our own fair land. Teach us to serve Thee joyfully with Head, Heart, Health and Hands.
