Jean DesRoches had a visit from her daughter, Donna Skerry, and friend, Veronica Reeves, New Ross, recently.
The MacPherson Auxiliary met Oct. 7 with the president welcoming all. Muriel Corkum did the devotional. They will have a bake sale Oct. 26 at the WWS soup luncheon. An auction was held. The Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer is Nov. 4, followed by the regular meeting.
Central Kings Crusaders met Oct. 9 at the Rebekah Hall with 13 members present. They opened with a reading, “Thankfulness”. Happy Birthday was sung to Mary Fraser, Pauline Oickle, Miriam Salsman, Erle Dolsen, Lorraine Toole. Next meeting will be on a Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m.
About 20 people attended a 60th birthday party for Gerald Keddy at his home on Cleveland Road on Oct. 12. Gerald opened cards and gifts and expressed his heartfelt thanks to those attending and the special place they belonged in his life. Thanks to co-ordinators, his wife, Maryann, and niece, Lisa Keddy, who was home from Edmonton for about a week spending time with her grandmother, Hilda Keddy.
The Lonergan family gathering was held at the home of Glenn and Heather Lonergan Oct. 13. It was a lovely social time with lots of good food. Twenty people from four generations were there.
Keith and Linda Lonergan, Hilden, were weekend guests of Gerald and Maryann Keddy, attending his best friends’ birthday party and the Lonergan do. They had dinner at the home of Linda’s brother, Danny Thomas, Kentville, and visited with her sister, Bonnie and Marshall Baltzer, Dempsey Corner.
