People have been responding to the Shelburne Loyalist Food Bank's call for help, refilling many of the shelves

The bare state of the local food bank, highlighted in a recent issue of the Coast Guard, has seen a big change of late.
The Shelburne Loyalist Food Bank has received an overwhelming response from citizens wanting to make a donation.
“The people of Shelburne are pretty darn good,” said volunteer Sandy Taylor.
She said that the shelves that were just recently exceedingly empty are now full with items.
A lot of people were unsure of how to donate though:
For cash donations cheques payable to Shelburne Loyalist Food Bank can be dropped off at the Community Business Development Centre (CBDC), Enterprise Square, Water Street or mailed to SLFB, PO Box 1403, Shelburne.
Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at Sobeys or the King Street Centre, both on King Street or the post office located on Mowatt Street into their food bank donation boxes.
“There were some people who didn’t even know there was a food bank in Shelburne,” said Taylor. “I am glad it made people aware.”
She said they are back up to where they should be with food donations.
