The Seaside Craft Market is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Sept. 21.
The Seaside Craft Market is celebrating 20 years this weekend in its Beach Meadows home.
The market started soon after the closure of the Beach Meadows School. The building was then transformed into a hall that became popular for dances, weddings, craft shows and other events.
The market is a key fundraiser for the building, which over the years has had walkways put in, repainting, and other maintenance. It costs around $1,000 per month to keep the building running.
The market will feature artists of many persuasions such as woodworking, painting, knitting, quilting, jewelry making, photography, leather crafting, soap making and more. Demonstrations from artists and artisans will also be available.
“We have a full house,” says Monique Michalik, an organizer for the market.
Door prizes include a large basket filled with a prize from each artist or artisan will be available to win.
The popular luncheon also returns with the choice of homemade fish chowder or chili, sausages, hotdog, homemade biscuits, desserts and drinks. Lunch is $8 per person.
“You have a choice of way too many desserts,” laughs Michalik.
The market is on Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
