Annapolis Valley Health will be holding community meetings on February 11 and 16 regarding the future of services to citizens served by the Annapolis Community Health Centre in Annapolis Royal.
AVH spokesperson Tamara Gilley said the health authority is concerned about accessibility to services at the health centre.
“ For some time AVH has had challenges in meeting the community’s health needs, regarding availability of services and growing concerns around access to primary health care,” she said. “Our goal is for ACHC to continue to be a resource for the health of our citizens. We want to find ways that ACHC can continue to most effectively meet the needs of the community.”
A series of three meetings will be held, the first at the Annapolis West Education Centre on February 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
“Part of the exploration of these challenges is to hear directly from community members,” Gilley said. “AVH would like to welcome community members to attend any of the following three community conversations hosted by David Logie, chair of AVH board of directors and Janet Knox, AVH president and CEO.”
Two meetings will be held on February 16, the first from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Clementsport Legion, and the second at the Annapolis Royal Fire Hall from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
“We hope you will be able to participate in one of these community meetings to share your needs and help us in planning to better serve you,” Gilley said. “We want to take this opportunity as a community to support this health centre to be the best it can be.
