Every Tuesday at 2 p.m., Port Williams seniors meet in the multipurpose room at the community centre. They would love to have any seniors in the area come and join them. They play crib, 45s, SkipBo, darts and we have a computer with internet access you can use.
Our Men’s Fellowship will hold its Christmas potluck at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in the vestry. All men and their significant others are welcome to attend. Following supper, Ken Bezanson, with help from Rev. David Ogilvie; will lead us in some festive music and song.
December 5, DanceTime at Port Williams will be holding its Christmas dance party in the Auditorium in the community centre from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. There will be a mix of social, Latin and ballroom dances; and a generous supper. There will be a cash bar and door prizes. Admission is by ticket only and tickets, at $25 per couple, are available at the village office or from Phyllis at 678-3283. All couples who enjoy dancing will be very welcome. Any profits will go to support community projects.
Tickets for the Lions Club’s Christmas draw are available from any member of the club and are three for $5 or $2 each. The draw will be Dec. 16. First prize is 450 litres of furnace oil donated by West Nova Fuels, second prize is a $100 gift certificate donated by the Port Bistro Pub, third prize is a $50 gift certificate donated by Jungle Jim’s and fourth prize is a Sunday brunch for two donated by the Old Orchard Inn & Spa. Funds raised are used to provide Christmas food baskets to needy residents in the Port Williams area.

Have any nature lovers, play enthusiasts or trail blazers on your Christmas list? Why not make a donation to the Port Williams Park in honour of someone else? You will receive a tax receipt, and they will receive a Christmas card explaining your donation.
EMS: The 44-page EMS yearbook is going full colour this year and yearbook Christmas gift certificates are available in the office until Dec. 19 at a cost of $20.
Baptist church: There will be an Advent Bible Study based on the book by Rick Warren The Purpose of Christmas Wednesday mornings: Dec. 2 - Time of Celebration, Dec. 9 Time of Forgiveness and Dec. 16 Time of Reconciliation; at the home of Liz Johnson. Everyone is welcome. There will be more information next week.
The December meeting of WMA is being held Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Lockwood Hall. A Christmas program is being planned with musical guests. Members are reminded to bring gift items to be used in the gift bags (men or women), which we are preparing for Inn From The Cold.” All ladies from the church are invited; come and bring a friend.
