Bridgetown

Canada Day celebrations run 8 a.m. until 11p.m. The day begins with a pancake breakfast and ends with a spectacular fireworks display. In between are activities for the whole family, including live entertainment. Activities take place at Queen Elizabeth II Jubillee Park.

Middleton

A Canada Day celebration will take place at the Macdonald Museum, in Middleton from 1:00 until 3 p.m., on July 1st. Free refreshments, entertainment, children's activities. No admission will be charged to visit museum this one day only. Ernie Marshall & Friends will provide musical entertainment.

Port Lorne

Port Lorne Celebrations: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. cold plate lunch, free will offering; cake cutting at 11:30 a.m.; parade line up at 1 p.m. at St Croix’s Cove corner to Old School House Rd., then back to Fire Hall for trophies and ice cream; Fireworks at dusk on beach. Middleton Supper

Celebrate Canada Day with a take out lunch, 1-1/4 pound lobster, potato salad, coleslaw, tomato, cucumber, roll, strawberry shortcake ($20), 11:15 to 1:30 or supply lasts. Holy Trinity Church Hall, Middleton (deliveries in town, to reserve, call 825-4758 or arrive early.

Pig Roast

Granville Ferry Community Hall Canada Day Pig Roast. Two sittings, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. $10 adults, $4 children. Limited tickets. Call 532-1245 to reserve yours.

Melvern Square

Canada Day Celebration, 11:15 to 1:15 p.m., Melvern Square & Area Community Centre, 11:15 a.m. Childrens’ parade registration takes place at the Melvern Square United Baptist Church. 11:30 a.m. parade, flag raising, cake cutting, hot dogs and pop. 12 p.m., soap slide. Everyone welcome.

Lawrencetown

The second annual Canada Day Celebration will begin at 1 pm at the Frank W. Morse Memorial Library parking lot in Lawrencetown. Should it be a rainy day, the event will move to the Fire Hall. All events, games, activities, and food are free.

Lawrencetown Pool Committee’s Canada Day Celebrations at the Library parking lot, 1 p.m. start, opening ceremonies at 1:15. Entertainment, face painting, bubble making, Fire Department sprinkler/ water curtain, fire truck parade to pool with free swim from 3 to 5 p.m. Hot dogs, Canada Day cake.

Yard sale

At the Royal Canadian Legion in Lawrencetown from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Table available for $2, for more information call 584-3623.

Walking tour of Paradise homes

July 1 Paradise Active Healthy Living Society invites you to tour six lovely Paradise homes and for strawberry shortcake at the Community Hall, 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets ($15) available at Lawrencetown and Bridgetown Pharmasaves or call 584-3511.

Gardens Family GPS Quest

Explore the Historic Gardens using GPS units (some units available, or bring your own) to make new discoveries and solve a puzzle. Phone 532-7018 to register. Kids are FREE on Canada Day!

Band Concert

July 1, 2:30 – 4 p.m. at the Historic Gardens in Annapolis Royal Enjoy musical selections by the Annapolis Basin Community Band in a beautiful garden setting! Kids are FREE on Canada Day! 532-7018.

Bingo

At the Annapolis Legion. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., Bingo starts 2 p.m. first book $10, $5 additional.
