Christmas is coming and the Four Seasons Community Orchestra is ready to ring in the season. The seventh annual Christmas Extravaganza will take place 7 p.m., Dec 13 at the Fountain Centre, Kings Edgehill School.

There will be the usual mix of seasonal and non-seasonal compilations -- ranging from classical, to Broadway and traditional. The audience will also be invited to join in a Christmas carol sing-along, as well, there will be a special musical quest and a solo performance.

The renowned Roger Taylor Award will also be presented that evening.

As the highlight of the season in Windsor/West Hants the extravaganza has drawn audiences from far and near. Conductor Roger Taylor says the event has become a traditional element of family celebrations. “We usually have a pretty full house; people really look forward to the concert.”

As well, Taylor suggested the setting couldn't be more apt for the occasion. “The Fountain Center is a wonderful venue, well appointed for a presentation such as this; it has that magical quality.”

The Four Seasons is compiled of local talent as well as musicians from Metro and the Valley region. Members have been rehearsing for the event since last September and Taylor said it is that level of dedication that makes this community orchestra one of a kind. “We have musicians from all walks of life and of all ages -- from juniors to seniors,” Taylor said, “and we are the only community orchestra in this area or surrounding area.”

To take part in the magic, tickets are now available from Moe’s Place Music Sales, Windsor Home Hardware and Dorian Hall Academy, and also at the door.
