Stadacona Band Concert and Silent Auction

The Stadacona Band of Maritime Forces Atlantic will play at a fundraising event in support of the Kings County Museum Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Horton High School.

The night will begin with a Silent Auction. There will be over 100 valuable and interesting items to bid on. Following the auction, the Stadacona Band will perform “Memories from the Past”. Admission to the event is a free will donation.

For more information, visit the Kings County Museum’s website at www.okcm.ca or phone 678-6237.

9th Annual Gaspereau Press Wayzgoose

The ninth annual wayzgoose will be held in Kentville Oct. 24 and 25.

The Gaspereau Press wayzgoose is an annual event that got underway in 2000, just a few years after the press was first established. Since its inaugural year, the Gaspereau Press wayzgoose has grown into a weekend-long celebration of literature and the book arts, with workshops, hands-on demonstrations, an open house, a paper sale, author readings and an evening round-table discussion.

It’s a chance to learn a little or a lot about books and publishing, throw in your own two cents’ worth, meet new and established Canadian authors and hear them read from their latest work.

For more information and a schedule of events, visit www.gaspereau.com or phone 678-6002.
