Girl Guides of Canada offers countless opportunities for today's busy girls and women.

Where, in just one hour, can a girl learn how to use a screwdriver, bake a cake, surf the net safely, organize a clothing drive, preform a skit, paddle a canoe, pitch a tent, find out about Canada and discover the world... all while making lasting friendships?

At Girl Guides!

There is no better time to join than now, as Girl Guides of Canada approaches 100 years of fun and adventure. With almost 110,000 members, GGC is the largest organization for girls and women in the country - and offers the widest range of activities of any extracurricular program. Girl Guides is also a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) - a worldwide network of Guiding and Scoting made up of more than 144 different countries, with more than 10 millon members!

This makes Guiding more than your run-of-the-mill, after-school activity. It's an exciting opportunity for today's girls to try new things and to challenge themselves in a safe, supportive environment while learning about themselves, their communities and the wider world. It also makes Girl Guides a unique volunteering option for women who want to make a difference in the lives of today's girls - tomorrow's leaders.

Make a difference as an adult member

Think you're to old to be a Girl Guide? Think again! Participating in Girl Guides is a great way for women to bring fun into their own lives and into the lives of girls, make new friends and build a supportive community of other women. Women can choose to be a leader, work directly with girls five to 17 in one of five branches (Sparks five to six, Brownies seven to eight, Guides nine to 11, Pathfinders 12 to 14 or Senior Branches 15 to 17) or volunteer their time in other ways: helping out with special events, for example, or public relations.

Girls as young as five can take part in the fun and adventure Guiding has to offer and, as they grow, Guiding grows right along with them. From making crafts in Sparks to their first camping trip in Brownies andpossible international travel in Senior Branches, there are many ways for girls to learn.
