The deadline for submitting listings for the upcoming issue is Thursday at 4 p.m.

Tea and bake sale

May 18

Spring tea and bake sale May 18 from 2-4 p.m. at the Bear River New Horizons.

Breakfast

May 19

A Firemen’s Breakfast will be held May 19 from 7:30-10 a.m. at Smith’s Cove Fire Hall/Community Hall. Proceeds to the fire department.

Indoor yard sale

May 19

An indoor yard sale sponsored by the Eastern Star will be held Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Masonic Hall located at the corner of King and Mount streets.

Farmer’s market

May 19 ‘Meet Me At The Market’ May 19 at 8 a.m. The Annapolis Royal Farmers and Traders Market opens for the season. For information call 245-4824.

Concert

May 20

Margo Nesbitt and friends concert May 20 at 7 p.m. An evening of sacred music and song in the Digby Baptist Church. Instrumentals, solos and the Ladies Ensemble will perform. Free will offering and a reception to follow. All welcome.

Bottle drive

May 26

Spring bottle drive May 26 no later then 9 a.m., pick up (by the road) is from Centreville to East Ferry. Also drop off bottles at Digby Neck School anytime. Thank you for your support.

Yard sale

May 26

An indoor yard sale will be held May 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Anglican Church, Queen Street, Digby.

Concert

May 26

A community choir concert will be held May 26 from 2-4 p.m. at the DRHS Community Theatre. A benefit for Acaciaville Baptist Church. For advanced tickets call 245-4153.

Yard sale

May 26

A gigantic yard sale will be held May 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hillgrove Baptist Church. Proceeds to Hillgrove Baptist Vacation Bible School.

Service of Hope

May 27

Service of Hope on May 27 at 7 p.m. at Hillgrove Baptist Church. Sonji Hill to have her head shaved. Guest speaker Mary Robinson. Music by Brad Hewey, Baptist Trio, Thomas Frook and bagpipes. Sponsored by Weymouth/Digby Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Support group

May 28

A Chronic Pain Support Group meeting will be held May 28 from 7-9 p.m. at the Superstore Community Room.Elevator access. To attend or for support call 245-2623 or 638-3096.

Mondays

7 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Bear River Branch #22.

Bingo

Tuesdays

Doors open at 6 p.m. Bingo at 7 p.m. at the Digby East Fish and Game.

Support group

Exhibit

Scallop Palette Gallery: New works by local artists until mid June at the Digby General Hospital.

Seniors’ fitness

Wednesdays

Get Moving Senior Fitness is held every Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Bear River Oakdene Centre and from 2:30-3:30 at the curling centre. For information contact 467-3091 or the Digby Recreation Department.

Soccer

Anyone interested in senior men’s soccer is asked to call 247-2842.

Get Dressed

Requesting good used clothing for men and women. New and unopened personal hygiene items. Used gift bags. Contact 245-2050.
