Letter to the Yarmouth Vanguard

Topics :
West Nova , Troy

Hats off to Alain Meuse in his column “ Whatever happens to Senate reports (Vanguard, March 6). Mr Meuse hit the nail on the head with his comment “Cummins goes to the wall for BC fishermen time and time again. After all isn’t this what MPs are supposed to be doing?”

I question what our MP Robert Thibault’s job function is. I was under the impression that he was to represent all his constituents in his riding, not just the large companies that can fund his campaigns. I have not see any written comments in any local newspapers on what our MP Thibault thinks of the proposed Bill C-45 (New Fisheries Act) I would think that as MP of one of the largest seafood producing ridings MP Thibault would have some kind of view. It leads me to think that he will not be following MP Cummins’ lead and go to the wall for West Nova fishermen.

Troy d’Entremont,
